Experience the Presence of God
We want to experience the presence of God in every gathering we have at Calvary Chapel. The Psalmist says, “in your presence there is fullness of joy” (Ps. 16:11). We encounter Him by coming together in fellowship, by bringing our sacrifices of praise together in corporate worship and prayer, and by sitting at His feet as He teaches us through His Word. We believe that as we experience the presence of God we can’t leave unchanged. We take full advantage of the access Christ has given us to the throne of grace, knowing that this promise is true: “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart” (Jer. 29:13).
Build Faithful Followers of Jesus
God has prepared works of ministry for every believer: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:10). In order for us to walk faithfully in the works God has for us and in service within the Church, we must be equipped spiritually to be effective. God’s tool for equipping believers for the work of ministry is the Church (Eph. 2:11-22). As we study the Bible cover to cover, as we fellowship consistently alongside one another, and as we devote time to seeking God’s face in corporate prayer and worship, we are equipped to be faithful and effective in God’s call on each of our lives.
Take the Gospel to
the World
Before Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father, He commissioned His followers to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19-20), being witnesses “in Jerusalem and Judea, Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). We take this commission to heart with outreach in the Danville and surrounding areas, and as God gives us opportunity, we engage in international missions efforts—through missionary support and mission trips—in order that the Gospel of Jesus Christ might be sounded forth from Calvary Chapel Danville.
