Live a Holy Life

Aug 28, 2024  •  Pastor Joel Denney

Drawing from Exodus 20, Pastor Joel walks through the Ten Commandments, establishing their relevance for believers today not as a binding covenant but as a reflection of God's unchanging moral character. He begins by affirming that while the Mosaic Law as a covenant has been fulfilled in Christ, its moral principles are echoed and even deepened in the New Testament. God's authority to command His people rests on who He is and what He has done, just as He reminded Israel of His deliverance from Egypt before issuing the commandments. Each command is examined for its theological weight and practical application to the life of the believer, with particular attention given to how the New Testament often intensifies rather than diminishes the standard. Pastor Joel concludes with a call to holy living rooted in a proper fear of God, worship offered in spirit and truth, and contentment with what God has provided.
